Dungeondice Monsters is a version of the board game played by the characters in the Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series. Featuring the same blend of magic, monsters, and strategy that have made the show a hit, this game has some nicely detailed playing pieces, seven in all, five dice (covered with symbols likely to be comprehensible only to Yu-Gi-Oh! fans), and a abacus-style counter to keep score. The only weak element is the flimsy paper game "board" that will scarcely lie flat enough to play on. --David Stoesz

| 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful  Dungeon Dice,Much Better Than The Card Game, By A Customer = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh Dungeon Dice Monster Game (Toy) I puchased two startes for myself and my Grandson.We have played the card game for quite some time(I pre-ordered the initial release in english).I enjoy this game for several reasons.The first is the required deck size.You only need ten cards.Secondly is the different aspects you have to be aware of during the game.You have to think defense,and offense,the cool thing is that its not just the cards you have to think about.The dungeon path and how you lay it out is as important as the cards in your deck.The starter allows you to play immediately,but you will absolutely want to get into the advanced game asap.This means you will need to buy more monsters/cards.You will need four beyond the starter deck for each player.Dungeon dice is to the YuGi card game as checkers are to 3-D chess.The dice factor is also another aspect that causes you to think from two more perspectives.I think that children may become bored quickly,without some parental input.After our third duel my seven year old... No seriously, your going to have to say that once you get into this game. It is much more fun than the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. First off because it is much more strategic. You have to roll crests to get the monsters on the field. These are the crests: Attack crest(raises your attack power by10), defense crest(same as attack but with defense), magic crest(activates your monsters special attack), movement crest(lets you move one space per move crest), and summon crests(you need 2 to summon a monster). Also, this game doesn't rely on the cards(well it kinda does). You have to build a dungeon path to the other side of the field to attack your opponents monsters. Ok, in short, this game ROCKS!
